Minimum wage, minimum housing prospects

[Op-ed] If you make minimum wage, chances are you have limited housing prospects. The maximum affordability for most low income renters is $660 a month, but they need to make at least $22.10 in order to rent a modest 2-bedroom apartment. Sadly, most market-rate apartments in every U.S state continue to be out of reach.

The House approved the bill Thursday with a 256-167 vote; members of the Senate approved the bill in a 256-167 vote on Friday. Foreign Investment in U.S. Jumps 49 Percent to Record $153 Billion

If you’re already involved in global real estate, here’s reason to celebrate: Foreign investment in residential U.S. real estate has skyrocketed up to $153 billion, according to the 2017 Profile of International Activity in U.S. Residential Real Estate . The new survey high indicates that despite political and economic uncertainty both here and abroad, the United States is still a safe and secure place to live, work and invest. While China is still the top buyer of U.S. residential real estate, Canada accounted for the most growth in the past year, from $8.9 billion in 2016 to $19 billion in 2017.
