Democrats call for increased funding for federal housing programs

Ranking Member of the House Financial Services Committee Maxine Waters, D-Calif., joined by the support of other Democratic members of Congress, sent several letters to congressional appropriators, highlighting the importance of federal housing programs. The letters encouraged an increase in funding for certain housing programs and even debt forgiveness for the National Flood Insurance Program.

Foreign Investment in U.S. Jumps 49 Percent to Record $153 Billion

The new survey high indicates that despite political and economic uncertainty both here and abroad, the United States is still a safe and secure place to live, work and invest. While China is still the top buyer of U.S. residential real estate, Canada accounted for the most growth in the past year, from $8.9 billion in 2016 to $19 billion in 2017.
